Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Observers (MMOs and PAM operators)
CSA International, Inc is interested in contacting qualified, experienced marine mammal and turtle observers for potential aerial and shipboard surveys. Objectives of projects can include:
- seasonal distribution and abundance;
- mitigation and monitoring of potential effects from oil and gas development and disturbance, including visual and passive acoustic (PAM) monitoring surveys during geophysical (seismic) surveys; and
- photography and photoidentification and cataloging.
Observers may participate in surveys at a variety of domestic and international locations. Depending on the survey, this position may require substantial time spent in the field. Sr. Marine Biologist/Biological Oceanographer
CSA International, Inc. is seeking to fill a Ph.D. level scientist position. This successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of projects from experimental design and data analysis to report writing. A good background in environmental/ecological statistical methods is advantageous to the prospective candidates. An understanding of field sampling in the marine environment is required, and the successful applicants must have good analytical, statistical analysis, and writing skills. A Ph.D. in marine biology, biological oceanography, or related field is required. Field Scientist-Marine Biologist/Biological Oceanographer
CSA International, Inc is seeking to fill a field scientist position. The successful applicant will participate in sampling surveys at a variety of domestic and international locations. This position is for someone willing to spend substantial time in the field, including diving, and have the necessary skills to participate in the analysis and reporting phases of projects. The preferred qualifications are 1) graduate degree in marine biology, biological oceanography, or related field; 2) familiarity with hard bottom communities, particularly corals; 3) good analytical and writing skills, and 4) excellent research, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
